Our Mission

By the grace of God, Roots’ mission is to support and encourage evangelical Christian parents in the Roots community as they home educate each of their children ‘in the way he should go’ (Proverbs 22:6).

God calls us to love God with everything we are and everything we do; then he instructs us to continually teach our children about God and His will. Roots as a program desires to honor God in our words, spirit and actions and we want to obey His commandments as given in the Bible.

We're Hiring

Roots Is Hiring

Roots Home Education is seeking Alberta-certified teachers to serve as Facilitators for our homeschooling families. We are looking for candidates who share our Christian values and understand the unique landscape of traditional home education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise families on the development and implementation of student program plans.

  • Provide consistent professional support and pedagogical guidance.

  • Complete two mandatory in-person assessments per student each year.

Requirements:

  • Current Alberta Professional or Interim Teaching Certificate.

  • Strong alignment with Christian educational values.

  • Prior experience with traditional homeschooling models.

Bill 24: Safe and Caring Policy

The Father’s House Christian School, which Roots Home Education is under, is one of several private/independent schools in Alberta that did not adhere to the Alberta Minister of Education’s mandate for changes to be made to their Safe and Caring policy under Bill 24. Becoming compliant with Bill 24 would have violated the statements of faith of both The Father’s House Christian School and Roots Home Education. Roots continues to advocate for educational choice and religious freedom. Click below for further clarification on this policy.
