Roots fine arts week is back and open for registration right now!
We have a fantastic line up of programming for children from ages 5 and up.
Note that space is limited, you will want to register right away.
Further details about the programming and instructors can be found on the event page but here is a sneak peak:
Ages 6+ Programming:
Kristen Federchuck is back and will be teaching the students how to painting of the barn owl in a ‘Nature Study’ style using acrylic paints.
Estefania Saldarriaga will be teaching the students theory of color and creation with 4 projects completed by the end of the week.
Allison Froese will teach students drama with a short skit bring presented at the end of the week.
Garth Phillpott has graciously offered to come teach pencil sketching and the students will have a completed pencil and ink Japanese style drawing.
Benjamin Blake will be helping the students to burn off energy in the gym class.
Soapstone Carving will be taught by instructors from Teachers Pet. Students will have 2 completed pieces at the end of the week.
Kindergarten Programming:
There are two options this year for kindergarten students, a full or 1/2 day program. The instructors are:
Lisa Mitchel has worked with children for many years and plans to give the children a variety of art mediums to experiment with, crafts, games, stories, and fun during the 4 days so classes. Lisa has worked with Roots students at our monthly support group.
Angela Squire will teach music classes that will encourage the children to combine singing, rhythm and movement.
